Deirdre Smaje
I moved to Beaconsfield with my husband ten years ago. After the anonymity of London, we wanted to live somewhere with a strong community. We found it here in Beaconsfield and knew at once we wanted to be active community members. For most of my career I have worked with museums in the UK and abroad, as an exhibition developer, writer and editor. It is work that gives me flexibility to do other things. I am proud to be a governor at Holtspur School, which has taught me a lot about the needs of Beaconsfield’s families. I also volunteer at the Oxfam shop in town.
