Paul Henry

margin-right:10px;I have lived in Beaconsfield for over 25 years and am deeply involved in community life in the town; I have been your Town councillor and District Council representative in the past and was Beaconsfield Town Mayor, 1999−2000.  I recently stood down after six years as Chair of Governors at Butlers Court School, but remain a governor.  For the past 10 years I have organised the entertainment in the Festival of Lights and for the past four years have been general manager of the Young Theatre, an award-winning theatre company in Beaconsfield for young people. I am passionate about openness in local Government and despair of the situation here in Beaconsfield and South Bucks, where the Conservative majority on both councils is so large that open debate, consensus politics and effective opposition is next to impossible.  As Local Government structures change, as they inevitably will over the next few years, it is important that independent voices are heard in Council chambers – fighting for Beaconsfield and not compromising for the sake of any wider agenda.
