Who are we?

The Beaconsfield Independent Electors Association was formed to help Independent candidates standing for election. It offers experience and expertise to support individual, independent candidates.

What do we believe in?

Independent Councillors are individuals who wish to serve their community free of party political constraints. They do not want to be told how to vote or what they should (or should not) say, but to consider each issue on its merits, relying on local knowledge, logic and common sense. They are free to represent you, their constituents, pursuing actions of benefit to Beaconsfield, its residents and its environment.

 

Are we a party?

No we are NOT a party. We are a group of people dedicated to seeing that local government in Beaconsfield remains in the hands of the community, helping to implement good ideas from whatever source. We provide the practical support that each councillor and/or candidate needs in order to serve you effectively.

How are we run?

There is a  Committee responsible for the business of the Association which consists of officers -President, Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and Nominating Officer during elections- who are elected at the Annual General Meeting, and not more than seven further elected members.  Councillors sponsored by the Association are ex officio members of the Committee.

Elections are expensive and we depend exclusively on our members for funding.  If you support our aims, why not join us?

Application forms are below, one for annual membership and another for a Standing Order.  They can be printed out by highlighting the relevant section then saving it.  It can then be printed in a ‘Word’ or other document, completed and sent off.
